Project Food, Land & People Coalition Formation Checklist

All parenthetical references in this checklist are found in this FLP Coalition Handbook.

These items are listed in a sequence that indicates the general timeline in which they should be done.

___ Interested individual obtains a copy of the FLP Coalition Handbook.
___ Identify various groups that might become members of the coalition. (Coalition Guideline 1)
___ Provide a representative of each targeted organization, agency or business with an overview of FLP either by personal contact or at an exploratory meeting.
___ Invite a representative from each group to attend a formation meeting.
___ Invite a national FLP representative to attend the meeting. (Coalition Guideline 2)
___ Select the group to act as the FLP affiliate and designate an individual to be the coordinator. (Coalition Guideline 3 and FLP State Affiliate Application)
___ Develop general program plans and an initial budget, including the coalition fee. (Coalition Guideline 4, 6 and 11)
___ Coalition approves general program plans, initial budget, and proposed dates for a facilitator workshop.
___ Complete the FLP State Affiliate Application and Coalition Support page and submit it to the FLP National Chairperson.
___ Send a copy of the Affiliate Application and the $3,500 coalition fee to the FLP Treasurer.
___ The FLP National Chairperson will provide two originals of the Project Food, Land & People Licensing Agreement to your state affiliate. (Coalition Guideline 3)
___ Sign and return one original of the Project Food, Land & People Licensing Agreement.
___ Finalize dates for the facilitator workshop and coordinate workshop details with the designated FLP representative. (Coalition Guideline 10, Facilitator Workshop Agenda Guidelines)
___ Order sufficient copies of Project Food, Land & People's Resources for Learning and the blank Journals for the facilitator workshop from John Davis, FLP Treasurer. (Coalition Guideline 10)
___ Decide on the number of additional copies of Project Food, Land & People's Resources for Learning you will need for any planned educator workshops and order them at least two weeks in advance from John Davis. (Coalition Guideline 9)
